The Home and Community-Based Service (HCBS) system is undergoing massive change.
New federal laws (i.e. CMS HCBS Settings Rule, WIOA, Cures Act/Electronic Visit Verification) require HCBS providers to be person-centered, provide opportunities for individuals to be integrated in the community, focus on competitive integrated employment as the primary goal for employment, and verify services through an Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system. Advances in technology are opening the door to new service options and more efficient methods of providing services. And individuals with a disability, and families, are seeking services that support individuals to reach their highest potential.
